What to do this week in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

It's launch week! Friday March 20 is the day everyone gets their hands on the game for the very first time. It also means that the first time we list our activities can be a bit rare as everyone makes their way through the introduction and builds their island paradise in the bustling village that it will someday become. So while we'll list specific things to do this week, we'll also focus on some general tips for getting through this start-up phase. We'll also be tweaking the schedule slightly and including items for this week and next. In the future, the week will start on Sunday and end on Saturday.

Friday March 20 and Saturday March 21

Friday and Saturday are going to be kind of short on the main activities, but full of things to do. It's probably the busiest you've been in all your time with Animal Crossing: New Horizons. First of all, you need to follow all of Tom Nook's advice so that you can quickly build your city, including the museum and Nook's Cranny. You can also build your house if you work hard enough to accomplish these tasks, but make sure you know how to make lots of bells very quickly. They will be important for all future events and upgrades. After that, make sure you get all the tools (check out our other guides if you need help) so you're ready for the tasks ahead.

Sunday March 22 - Stalk Market

Oh boy, it's Sunday! It's a huge day in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, so I hope you're ready. If you've never played CA games before, get ready to set some alarms for Sunday. From midnight until noon you can buy turnips at Daisy Mae. Why do you want to buy turnips? Basically they are the best way to make bells, but read this for more information. If you get a good price, you can even invite friends to your island to buy theirs.

Monday March 23 - Saturday March 28

No major activity is known beyond the Sunday turnip sale for this week. Since everyone will be starting out, you'll just want to do normal activities like fishing or catching bugs. Expand your house, get new villagers, improve stores. Spending bells will help with this, but will also focus on completing the tasks given to you by show owners and villagers. Also, be careful that Gulliver spawns on the shore, although other random visitors like Crazy Redd and Gracie may appear as well. These are random, so just explore your city to see where they might be and when.

Check out next week's list on Saturday to find out what's happening starting in April. There's a fun Animal Crossing: New Horizons April Fool's Day event, so that should be awesome.
