Star Wars: Squadrons brings intense air combat and space battles to PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. With fierce contests taking place in the Star Wars universe, there are plenty of places where fierce battles can be fought.
If you're curious about which areas of the Star Wars universe will serve as the backdrop for your battles, we've got you covered. There will be six locations at launch, and each will be either an iconic location or a location never seen before.
Yavin Prime
A gas giant in the outer rim. One of its moons - Yavin 4 - housed the Rebel Alliance's main base of operations in Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope. So it's no surprise to see this place featured in the squadrons.
Esseles
A whole new region for squadrons, under Imperial control for 10 years. Esseles is home to a listening post in the Planet's Frozen Rings, which has been around since the Galactic Civil War. The Rebel Alliance will want to destroy it and thwart the Empire's eavesdropping plans.
Nadiri Shipyards
A shipbuilding base located in the Bormea area. The shipyards have been mentioned in Star Wars audiobooks before, but this is the first time they've physically appeared in the franchise. He aligned himself with the New Republic after their victory at the Battle of Endor, so the Empire will be keen to break their hold on it.
Sissubo
Another planetary start. It is the seventh object in the Chandrila system in the Bormea sector, and it is surrounded by a field of wreckage from destroyed Galactic Empire ships. A minefield to navigate for those who pilot starcruisers and other large ships.
Anger
An ancient moon that was torn apart by the nearby Ringula Nebula. Molten fragments are scattered across the region, and any ship will need to quickly and agile to move through this field of debris without taking damage. Another new region for squad players to explore and fight.
Abysse de Zavian
The final location is in the expansion region. Dangerous zone with asteroids surrounded by an electric maelstrom, the Zavian Abyss is another graveyard for star cruisers and other massive spaceships. Enter at your own risk.
