Final Fantasy XIV - How to Unlock False Hollows, How False Hollows Work

Faux Hollows is unlocked in Idyllshire at level 80.

Before you can take on the Faux Hollows and take on the new Unreal Trial, you'll first need to reach level 80, complete the final MSQ quest and hold the Shadowbringers expansion, and unlock Wondrous Tales. Once you have at least the first two completed, head to Idyllshire; you can type in "Follow the Aliapohs" if you haven't completed it yet, or talk to the Painfully Ishgardian Man (X: 7.0 Y: 5.9) to access the False Hollows if you already have access to Wondrous Tales.

Final Fantasy XIV's Faux Hollows are simple in concept: you'll complete the new Unreal Trial, then talk to the Faux Commander next to Khloe Aliapoh to play the mini-game. You can only play Faux Hollows once a week, with one exception detailed below. The mini-game is not cosmic - you will select up to eleven panels on a 6 × 6 grid with the aim of discovering the illustrations hidden below. There will be a single large, small and two medium artwork with the amount of “fake sheets” (the reward currency) listed under each illustration to the right.

A large illustration will grant the smallest amount of false sheets, but in return grants a “story” once a week. This will allow you to re-complete the Unreal Trial for another attempt at The Hollows. Again, you only get one attempt per week without a story, and you can only earn one story per week, so if you plan to play two Hollows in a week, you'll need to unveil a great illustration. on your first attempt at Hollows. The larger ones take up six panels, so you'll need to devote more than half of your choices to them. Look for a story if your luck isn't right and you've already found a sign with part of the large artwork (this will be easy to complete with at least one sign revealed).
