Animal Crossing: New Horizons - How to Change Seasons

How to change the season

One of the first questions you'll be asked after creating your villager in Animal Crossing: New Horizons is what hemisphere you live in. Southern hemisphere.

You don't have to go with the hemisphere you actually live in, as this choice greatly affects the seasons. The southern hemisphere has seasons at different times than the northern hemisphere, so choosing one or the other will affect that. As of the game's release date, choosing the Northern Hemisphere will give you Spring in the game, while the Southern Hemisphere will give you Fall.

If you are not happy with either of these seasons, you can also take a detour to cheat the game. As was the case in previous games, you can access the system settings for the game. Nintendo Switch and adjust the date to get a different season.

To do this, go to the Nintendo Switch home screen, then go to System Settings. Then scroll to System, then scroll to Date & Time. You will likely have "Synchronize clock via Internet" enabled, so you need to turn this off and then go down and manually change the date to match the season you want.

We're not quite sure what the implications of a date change will be in a game like this, as there have been in the past. One thing we do know, however, is that you won't have access to any special events during the holidays, as it will instead be downloadable content. Any change of season will do for you just change the season itself, so that you can decide if it is worth it for you for the potential consequences that could appear in the future as we have the game for longer.
