Battle Breakers launched by Epic Games for iOS, Android and PC even after a long period of soft launch. We're saying long, but in reality it's been two years since the game softly launched in 2017 and was set to release that same year. But, either they had a change of heart and the adaptation of the three platforms took so long, or something went wrong.
Now you all know about Epic Games, right? They are the origin of titles such as Fortnite, Unreal, Gears of War and many more. The Unreal engine they built, which has since been commercially available, has been ranked by Guinness World Records as "the most successful video game engine." Now, when a business like this misses its initial two-year launch estimate, you tend to worry. However, the result is an eye-catching presentation of a hero collector RPG that looks impressive and offers cool gameplay at first glance.
The characters or heroes of Battle Breakers are only part of the iceberg, as this game tries to do more than just collect them, level them up, and put together your best team. Firstly, the base matches feature a crystal break in order to go through particular levels that generate cash winnings and rewards, which is pretty vivid and is kind of a gatcha mechanic. You use the currency for different actions in the game, mainly to unlock stronger heroes and build a stronger team. When the going gets tough, the game gets harder and harder and throws enemies into player versus boss battles.
The game is free, but also offers a Battle Pass for more advanced users. Now, Epic Games has made cross-platform gaming enabled, allowing you to sync it with your PC and smartphone. Saves, progress, and whatever has been done can be transferred from one platform to another, including the Epic Games Store. After a long delay, Epic is also celebrating this launch by offering in-game rewards that pay off after the tutorial, like the Beastman Hero, or other significant upgrades.
The launch celebration rewards are time-limited and will be available until November 27. You can earn them in the game by beating the in-game tutorial stage and claiming it. Epic is also promising crossovers between Battle Breakers and Fortnite, and it looks like the real reason for the delay is manifesting as they clearly have big plans for this game. However, this is still only rumored and it remains to be seen if this latest title will make its way.
