What evidence do you need for Operation Red Circus?
The following evidence is needed to successfully infer the correct suspects.
- Wristwatch containing the list of the dead (Desperate measures)
- Cassette with activity report (Echoes of a Cold War)
- Book by Franz Kraus (Brick in the wall)
If you missed any of the evidence listed above, replay the listed missions and locate the evidence. Once you have all three, it's time to solve the puzzle.
Which suspects are correct?
Everyone has unique information, so we can't just give you three names. You're going to have to do some of your own detective work, but we're still going to walk you through it all. First of all, examine Great book by Franz Kraus. This contains three code names, Bearded lady, Strong man, and juggler, as well as three cities and dates. This is your first lead.
Examine the list of suspects and note anyone who was in the cities listed on the dates indicated. They are your first suspects. You will likely have multiple people who were in certain cities on certain dates, but that's normal for now.
Then examine the Cassette with Repor activitiest. This tells you the gender of each codename. Take a look at the pronouns used in the descriptions to find out which code name is male and which code name is female.
For the last nail in the coffin, examine the Wristwatch containing the list of the dead. This piece of evidence contains another set of cities and dates that match each code name. Review the suspect list again. Anyone who matches both cities and dates for a code name is a correct suspect. For example, on my side, Bearded Lady was in Barcelona on 1/9 and in East Berlin on 16/09. It matched two possible suspects, Harvey Spray and Eliana Miller, but because I knew Bearded Lady was female because of the tape, I knew Eliana Miller was Bearded Lady. Of course, things will be different for you, but this is the general thought process you should go through when selecting suspects.
Once you're sure you've got the right three people, select each of their portraits while examining the suspects to mark them as targets. Then just start the mission as usual. Once you start the mission, you won't be able to change your decision anymore, so make sure you are confident in your choices before you begin. Once this mission is completed, you can start cracking the code and deciphering the floppy disk for Operation Chaos.
