Black Ops Cold War Update 1.12 patch notes
This update contains all of the new content for Black Ops Cold War Season 2. There are currently no official patch notes, but Treyarch will provide a list of changes once the update officially goes live for everyone. For now, here is everything that has been confirmed for Season 2.

- The next chapter in Dark Aether's story takes Requiem Agents to the heart of Russia, where they will fight to survive their greatest challenges to date. Welcome to Outbreak: an all-new, full-scale Zombies experience like no other!
- As Requiem continues to fall behind in the arms race against the Omega group, various areas of the Ural Mountains have recently become sites of the Dark Aether outbreak. With new opportunities to research the Dark Aether and advance the Requiem agenda, it's up to you and three other operatives to complete the deadly experiments few survived.
- New Field Upgrade: Frenzied Guard
- Upon activation, all enemies will immediately target the Frenzied Guard user for a brief period, during which only armor will take damage. This can be a game-changer when the other Operators are surrounded by the masses of the undead, as they will distract from those in peril and turn to the armored savior.
- New Ammo Mod: Shatter Blast
- The Pack-a-Punch Machine and Elemental Pop will now include the Shatter Blast Ammo Mod, which allows all bullets to deal explosive damage. Each bullet also has a chance to explode, dealing additional explosive damage and destroying any armor hit.
- Two new skill levels
- With the help of two new types of Etherium Crystals - Refined and Flawless Etherium Crystals - Requiem Agents will be able to upgrade all skills to levels IV and V.

- Just like at the start of Season 1, your Season Level will reset to 1 at the start of Season 2 and your progress will resume from the highest Prestige Level you previously achieved.
- New Warzone Points of Interest
- In addition to the new Cold War Black Ops weapons and operators in season two and a new loot pool, Warzone receives shocking new points of interest to explore and two modes that challenge the traditional Battle Royale formula.
- New game mode: Exfiltration
- It is high time for the exfil helicopter to arrive before the collapse of the circle closes completely. During a Battle Royale Exfiltration, a portable radio comes to life and connects somewhere in Verdansk. The operator who secures this radio and keeps it for a sufficient period of time automatically wins the game for him (or his team, in non-solo mode). To make sure their exfile does not conform to the book, anyone with the radio is marked on the Tac card as if they are under a Most Wanted Contract (also known as HVT or High Value Target) with all operators also receiving information on the amount the current holder of the radio has longer until he wins. Other than this new victory condition, the same Battle Royale rules apply. Expect the circle to collapse and a winner to be determined by the last operator or team standing, if no one gets an early exfile with the radio.
- New game mode: Rebirth Island Resurgence Extreme
- The High Octane Resurgence mode enabled on Rebirth Island will be taken to the extreme during season two, increasing the maximum number of players in the limited-time Rebirth Island Resurgence Extreme mode. Up to 90 players can travel to Renaissance Island for an incredibly frantic fight for supremacy, as they seek to take out all the last members of enemy squads to prevent them from having a second, third, or even fourth chance for revenge.
