Code Vein: How to cooperate and send a distress signal

Code Vein is out and you're enjoying the new game right now on Steam, PlayStation 4, or Xbox One. The game offers intense combat with an artistic touch. For those who have played titles like Bloodborne or Dark Souls, you will adapt to this game. Code Vein also includes multiplayer. Players can work together to defeat dangerous enemies, alongside a helpful companion.

How to cooperate in Code Vein

To operate the Code Vein co-op, you must send a distress signal. You can do this from your game's menu screen. When sending a distress signal, you will have to wait for someone to respond. This process can take a bit of time and some players have reported having difficulty sending a particular distress signal without anyone responding.

When someone enters your game, they can't start a boss fight for you. They have to wait for you to engage the enemy so they can fight. Also, if you drop something in the world, your guest won't be able to pick it up. However, the guest can pick up whatever the boss drops in their case. It's not going to take your world. Having a guest with you increases your chances of getting new loot. It is encouraged to play with other players.

If you want to join someone else's game, you'll need to look for their distress signal in the menu. You will see the same menu that you would go through if you were to send a signal. Any progress made in the game is saved in the host's world, not yours. If you jump into someone's playing hours ahead of you, the world won't progress even if you beat a boss.

Some areas do not allow multiplayer, and if you send a distress signal and venture into those areas, the call will drop. Make sure you stay in the available multiplayer regions.
