has some pretty insane side quests, and the missions you'll find in the investigation area are pretty weird. You will send mysterious chain letters, contact aliens, and solve the mysteries of haunted trains. There's even a horde mode mini-game that you can unlock and practice against armies of tough enemies. Perfect use for those new murderous powers that you can unlock in the DLC.

All side mission locations and completion guide
Side-Mission: Death in His Footsteps - Unlocks after defeating Hartman in the AWE Eagle Limited room. Interact with the train door to start the side mission.
- To complete this mission, you must interact with the objects in the correct order.
- Solution: Leather bag, conductor's hat, violin, dinner plate, hammer, engine parts
- For solving this side mission, you'll earn the One-Way Track Shatter Mod, which reduces projectile spread by -100.
Secondary mission: Gerbil took his head held high - Located in the FRA MAURO AWE, activate the lights then go back down. Find the hold cell on the right and activate it to start the mission.
- Collect all the items in the two FRA MAURO AWE mobile labs, then go to the Sector Headquarters at the very beginning of the Investigation Sector. There is an astronaut helmet here! Grab it and come back abroad.
- Complete this mission to earn the Thin Space Charge weapon mod. It gives you + 1000% projectile speed.
Secondary mission: return to sender - Found near the CP of the offset desks, on the mail tubes. After collecting it, return to the operations center and find a photocopier.
- The copier is located under the control room of the operations center.
- Send mail from all three locations, then return to the traveling offices. You can now access a strange mailbox. Interact to clean it!
- Earn the Spam Mail Spin Mod for completing the side mission. This gives you + 100% weapon damage after kills.
Secondary mission: SHUM - Found in the Active Investigations area, look in the southwest office, there is a weird arcade game.
- There are two options - Crowd control et Deadline.
- Crowd Control is a horde survival mode. Just try to survive as long as you can against waves of Hiss enemies.
- Deadline challenges you to kill 50 enemies before the time runs out. Each enemy you kill or control gives you +5 seconds.
- Complete 1 of these games to complete the quest.
Secondary mission: another beautiful mess: burn the dark - Posted on the wall in the Investigation Area Operations Center, to the left of the globe. Burn three points of darkness.
Dark # 1: Investigations / Service conduits - The service conduits are the tunnel just after room FRA MAURO AWE. Exit through the upper level control room to reach them.
Dark # 2: Investigations / Eagle Limited AWE - In the great room with the suspended wagon. Find a lamp in the control room!
Dark # 3: Investigations / Utility Corridor - Found in the control room which you will access from the second turn of the bridge (south). There is a lamp by the windows of the control room.
Side mission: another nice mess: eliminate the mold - Posted on the wall in the Investigation Area Operations Center, to the left of the globe. Eliminate three mold infestations.
- Mold n ° 1: Charging Bay Investigations / Vents - Go down to the AWE Charging Bay vents and look for a breakable exhaust vent on the left. This leads to the part with this mold.
- Mold # 2: Investigations / Air conditioning systems - Just past the utility corridor you will find this optional room to the right before
- Mold n ° 3: Investigations / Abandoned Offices - In the upper aisles between the abandoned offices and the vents in the operator corridor.
Side-Mission: Another Fine Mess: Feeding the Plants - Posted on the wall in the Investigation Area Operations Center, to the left of the globe. Revive three plants with light.
- Factory n ° 1: Investigations / Loading bay AWE - A factory is located in the control room, one on the walkway to the left of the control room and on the lower level in front of the control room.
- Factory n ° 2: Investigation / Operations Corridor - Just before reaching the Central Operations Room, at the start of the sector.
- Factory n ° 3: Investigations / Abandoned Offices - At the start of the sector, in the room where you first encounter Hiss's enemies.
