Playable Races in Cubic World

Although there are eight playable races in Cubic World, there are no gameplay differences between them. The game developer has said that different races may have unique attributes in the future, but now they only offer cosmetic changes.

In addition to choosing a race for their character, players can customize their appearance by changing the options based on the character's race. Humans have the most customization options, with multiple faces, hair styles, and hair colors to choose from. The more monstrous racing options, like Lizardmen and Frogmen, have fewer options. Even after character creation, there are ways to further customize your character. A barber's NPC can change their hairstyle, but they cannot affect characters like Frogmen who do not have hair in any way. The developer also said that more customization options could be added in the future.

NPC Races in Cubic World

Each of the playable races in Cubic World can also be encountered as an NPC in the world. NPCs can either be friendly characters that will help you fight, or aggressive characters that will attack you. Defeating hostile NPCs will often give you valuable items.

NPCs of different races can have differences between them, especially in the biomes they live in. For example, elves won't spawn in dungeons, but it's the most likely place to find undead. Human NPCs can appear as bandits in the wild, but you will also frequently encounter friendly Humans in Cubic World cities. Goblins and orcs often spawn in the woods. As the smallest of the races, goblins mostly hunt in packs, while orcs are more able to use their large size to be formidable opponents.
