How to throw knives?
Before moving on to the rest of the questions, we must first explain how to throw knives. Players don't have this skill by default, which is quite surprising since I can now throw a knife and I'm not cybernetically enhanced at all. The results may be a bit worse than what you get in the game, so I guess it's understandable. Fortunately, unlocking the skill is pretty easy, what it requires is simply choosing the Dagger Dealer perk to get the skill.
Once you have that, you can throw knives by simply equipping one, holding down the left trigger or right clicking to aim, then holding down the right trigger or left clicking to throw. If you aim well and hit your target, you will cause quite a bit of damage and possibly be able to kill with a single hit. Mind you, the advantage of throwing knives is usually that they are reusable, so we have to answer the following question, which may disappoint the answer.
Can you catch knives you've thrown?
Players probably worked hard to unlock Dagger Dealer and acquire the ability to throw knives because they assumed they would offer a reusable ammo set. Unfortunately, this is not the case, as you cannot catch knives after you have thrown them. This effectively makes Dagger Dealer and throwing knives in general much less desirable. At this point, we don't recommend reaching for them as a goal, but if you want to take advantage when you have extra points, that's probably enough.
Where to get the knives?
As for where to get the knives to throw, it's pretty straightforward.
- Once you have the advantage, you can throw most of your knives and you can always buy more at almost any gun store in or around Night City. Whenever you are short or completely out of stock, head to the nearest store and check your inventory. This may change as you level up, even if they didn't have them before, you'll want to check back in later.
- You can also occasionally find them on dead enemies, but they are quite rare.
- Do higher level side quests if you're really desperate, as they're more likely to drop during those quests, sometimes in loot chests.
