How to unlock the hammer of proof.
While you are new to HELM, the main area of Season of the Chosen where you can also Focus on shadow engrams, you continue with the rest of the very short campaign of the new season. Finish the last Battlefield the activity that the campaign throws at you, you must then visit HELM and find the Prismatic Recaster. Playing with it a bit, then performing a second battleground, will reward you with this Hammer of Evidence, so getting it is pretty easy as it's only a matter of time. You can unlock perks later in this area, but for now you should start farming Cabal Gold and unlock plenty of Tribute chests.
Close the Cabal Gold and unlock Tribute Chests.
Cabal Gold can be earned and farmed through Strikes, Gambit, Crucible, and Public Events. Mayhem matches give x8 the amount of Cabal Gold you would normally get and Vanguard Strikes rewards you with x14 the amount.
In your menu, if you choose your Hammer of Evidence and look at it, you can see how much gold you have accumulated (at first it will show 0/42). By right clicking on the hammer, you will be able to see its brackets, where you can insert medallions to upgrade it, and this process takes Cabal Gold. That is why you have to cultivate for it for a while.
Now here's the fun part. Starting the new battlefield activities and defeating the last boss will reward you with 3 Tribute Chests. From these chests, you can use your hammer to choose one and claim its contents. Every time your hammer breaks a chest, it gains a certain charge. These charges can be used as completion materials for Focusing Shadow Engrams, via Prism Rework.
Rinse and repeat all of the above, and you pretty much have the Season of the Chosen game loop right there. It doesn't sound that exciting, but considering how many things you can find in this season, aside from everything we could already do, I would say Destiny 2 is in a very nice spot right now. Besides, in the end, it's just a looter-shooter in nature.
