Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will take you through the world of the anime Dragon Ball Z. You play as notable characters like Vegeta, Piccolo, adult Gohan and of course the main character, Goku. With Kakarot being a massive Action-RPG, do you have the option to play with a friend or even fight against one online?
At this time, we have no confirmed words or signs of Kakarot having any online aspects. The world is a huge semi-open area where players can explore these great environments. It's not a fully open world where you wander around as much as you want. You have to progress through the story at a decent pace to gain access to additional locations.
If you go to the Kakarot store page on Steam, you'll see that there are no tags or notches for multiplayer, co-op, or split-screen play. The game will only have a single player experience available when it launches. Given the initial approach, the developers are unlikely to plan to create an online experience later. Due to the RPG elements, they may want to keep a closed experience so that you can enjoy it freely without thinking about fighting other players or participating in online tournaments.
While Kakarot doesn't offer a multiplayer, co-op, or split-screen experience, you can still try out the other Dragon Ball Z titles with these features. The most notable are Dragon Ball FighterZ and the Xenoverse series.
You'll have a lot to do in the game, as it could take you 35-45 hours to complete, and that's the main story. If you were to browse the game, check off side quests, and work on achievements, you might find yourself taking even longer in-game time.
