Every new monster returning in Monster Hunter Rise

Monster Hunter Rise will bring an updated version of the classic franchise formula to the Nintendo Switch on March 26, 2021, and with a nice mix of iconic creatures and completely original monsters.

The new mechanics added from Monster Hunter World will deliver an improved gaming experience over the already available Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate, but Rise is unlikely to match the 93 monsters available in the Switch's other exclusive title.

Much like with World, Rise will have new monsters, while also bringing back classics to appease older fans. Based on what was shown in the reveal trailer, the returning monsters could look quite different from those available to players in World.

We won't know exactly which monsters will be featured in Monster Hunter Rise when it launches next year, but Capcom has shown at least a few creatures you'll hunt.

Magnamolo

Fanged Wyvern who hunts his prey with relentless villainy, Magnamolo is treated like the titular monster of Rise, which means that he will have major significance for the history of the game and will likely provide players with some very powerful armor. So you better prepare to interact with this new beast several times throughout your game.

Another new monster for the franchise is a Wyvern bird known to stand on one leg and its particular umbrella-like collar. It is fiercely territorial and will spread its wings while unfolding its eye-shaped crest in order to appear more intimidating against intruders.

Grand Izuchi

Another new Wyvern bird, the Great Izuchi has a scythe-shaped tail which it uses to slice its prey. He tends to move through defined areas that he marks as his territory with smaller Izuchi, usually in groups of three, before rushing forward and attacking their targets with fierce combinations.

Tétranadon

A very large amphibious creature that swallows anything in its path due to its gluttonous nature. He is known to eat gravel and bloat his stomach which, while slowing him down, also increases the weight and destructiveness of his strikes.

Capcom has promised more information on the new monsters and the return of fan favorites as the game draws closer to release.
