Gears 5 ranking system explained

Gears 5 has arrived, and those who are actively engaged in the fight against the swarm are eagerly awaiting their turn to engage in online gaming. The Coalition is taking things seriously this time around with their Ranked play and there is a new array of different rankings with their system. Here's how Gears 5 ranking system works for their multiplayer platform.

Gears 5 ranking system explained

What games can you rank?

There are currently four different multiplayer modes in which you can receive a leaderboard. You can see them by clicking on the "Versus" tab on the main menu, then on the "Ranked" icon. From there, you'll see the four displayed:

  • king of the hill
  • Team Deathmatch
  • Climbing
  • guardian

These modes are going to have various maps, probably shown in the Gears 5 campaign mode.

How do you rank?

To rank in any of the previously mentioned modes, you must have played at least five different matches in the match. These matches cannot have crashed, ended midway through, or disrupted. They have to come from start to finish. When you complete the fifth game you are going to be ranked based on your performance in that game and from there you will be placed with similarly talented players. From there, you have the option of moving up to your current rank, or you'll fall if you do it wrong.

5 Row Gears

There are several rank levels in Gears 5. Here they are broken down.

  • mastery
  • Platinum
  • Or
  • silver
  • Bronze

You will find yourself in one of these ranks after completing the first five matches of your ideal Gears 5 game mode. After that you will go through the various levels of that level, so that you can improve your current status and work your way up. The higher you climb, the more difficult and trained players you will find to expect in every game.
