Dust of Azoth is purchased with Stardust from the Genshin Impact Store, and is used to convert Character Ascension Materials at the Alchemy Table.
Azoth's Dust can be found in the Genshin Impact Shop, under the Stardust Exchange in Paimon's Bargains. Yes, that means that you will have to actually shoot during the various Genshin Impact banners, as this is how you earn Stardust. Assuming you're a free-to-play fan, that's not too bad, as you'll be getting a healthy supply of Stardust from all of your free prints. Those of us who occasionally (or more) pay for sweaters should have an abundance of Stardust.
The price for Dust of Azoth isn't too cheap. Ten cost five Stardust, and you can buy 100 per month. That adds up to 1000 Azoth Dust for 500 Star Dust, and that amount should fuel even the most obsessive character ascension material conversions of min-maxers for a while. To use Azoth's Dust, simply visit an alchemy table and look for the new icon at the top. Select it to open the Convert tab, where you can select the exact Elemental Ascension material you want.
Whether it's a Shard, Shard, Piece, or Gemstone, each Transmutation will only cost one Character Ascension Material of similar quality. The cost per conversion of Dust of Azoth increases. Each level of Character Ascension Material costs:

Gems will start to deplete your Dust of Azoth stores, but that shouldn't be a problem if you collect 1000 Dust of Azoth from the Genshin Impact store each month (assuming you're not trying to max more than eight characters). , and your drop-luck is a total garbage). Keep in mind that you can only buy 1000 per month, so you'll still want to farm your Character Ascension gear. Dust of Azoth and the new Convert feature just makes it easier to cycle your poor drops into what you need in Genshin Impact, which is always a massive win in my book.
