Sarahah is an application of ANONYMOUS messaging which allows you to send messages to anyone you want without the recipient knowing who the sender is. The application is becoming more and more viral.

1) What is the Sarahah app?
According to the description provided in the Google Play Store "Sarahah helps people grow by receiving constructive anonymous answers". Interestingly, the meaning of the word Sarahah is contrary to the purpose it serves. The word means 'honesty' in Arabic, although this honesty is delivered anonymously. The application is available in English and Arabic for users iOS and Android.
2) How does the Sarahah application work?
Just like other apps, right after the app is downloaded and installed, you will be prompted to set up a account. Enter the required details such as username, email and password. This messaging application does not ask for your mobile number, as the idea is to remain anonymous.
Once connected you can share your Sarahah link on Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp or copy the link and send it to a different social network. So whoever has the link can send you messages. They could be friends or even strangers who are in the app or even people who haven't downloaded the app yet (but can send messages from the Sarahah website)
To send a message, a user must click on the link and enter the message in the field that appears under the text “Leave a constructive message”.
Obviously the constructive part is lost in most of the messages that are sent ... People can type their message and click on Send. When a user receives the message she sees the text and doesn't know who the sender is. The messages received will appear under the section "Received"
3) What else does Sarahah offer?
This application is not like a normal messaging application. The application simply sends a message to anyone while remaining anonymous. In the app there is only the messages section, search, explore and profile card. Options such as all received, sent and favorite messages are displayed in the "Messages". When you receive a message you can bookmark it or block it or even report it.
The board "favorited”Shows messages where the heart symbol was pressed. The option 'sent'show all sent messages. Instead, the "Search”Allows you to search for people to send anonymous messages. Finally there is an 'Explore' tab which is not yet functional.
4) What are the privacy options?
There isn't much that can help users NOT to receive messages. A user can report a message or block the user. Also, a person can decide to become invisible by clicking on the 'Appear in search' option and deactivating it. Another setting ensures that unregistered users cannot send messages on the app. The application displays four icons under each message - one Red flag to report the message, thelock icon, the answer and an icon of the heart to mark a message as a favorite.
5) How much is it worth using a similar application?
Sarahah is now disguised as a fun app between friends who send messages (or rather insults) to each other while remaining anonymous. But these things can take a turn at any moment and get out of control. The internet still remains a place that highlights the worst in people and with anonymous messages there are serious risks associated with it.
