How Legacy Shards Work in Apex Legends

How Legacy Shards Work in Apex Legends

Apex Legends continues to attract fans with new seasons, new characters, and new weapons. Valuable Items All Apex Legends assets the player is after are Heirloom items. These items are exclusive and extremely rare appearance options for a character in the game. It grants them a unique melee weapon, voice, and banner pose. The traditional way Heirloom items work is changing, and you can't get Heirloom Shards.

When you receive Legacy Shards from an Apex Pack, you now have the option to choose which Legacy set you want to receive. Previously, when you received Heirloom items, this was one of the random choices, and it could be a character that you had never played or particularly liked. Heirloom Shards take the guesswork out of it, so you can pick the set you're really looking for for the characters you love to play.

The chance of looting an inheritance is 1 in 500, so it is extremely rare to obtain. A player has a chance for every 500 Apex Packs to get one. For example, if you open 499 Apex Packs, the next, last one, number 500, will contain Heirloom items. You have a chance to get it before you hit 500, but you must be lucky. With the introduction of Heirloom Shards, your total will not be reset. Apex Legends won't turn all players back, so those who get close and increase their chances of looting one now have a much higher chance of looting the set they rightfully want to get.

When you obtain all current Heirloom items, you cannot loot an Heirloom Shard. You have to wait for developer Respawn Entertainment to release another one and your total starts at 1 in 500.
