The Xbox
Insider program lets gamers see tons of content early on for Windows 10
and console updates like Xbox One and some game betas or apps
tests. The program also allows you to provide feedback to Microsoft through surveys.

how to join the beta program and become an Xbox Insider on your Xbox One
or PC.

Before we begin, we should note that access to the Xbox Insider program, and what is available there, will vary depending on the region you are in. Membership in the program is completely free.

you can become an insider, you will have to download the app. Open the
Microsoft Store and search for Xbox Insider Hub. The icon will be an Xbox controller
in a speech bubble on a green tile. Install it and open it once the app
is ready. If you are opening the app for the first time, you will need to accept the
program conditions and services. By joining this you authorize Microsoft to collect
data on tested features, so that they can send you emails with surveys and
questionnaires on your personal experience.

you are now an Xbox Insider. If you click on Insider Content, you can see this
game, applications, or system tests that you can participate in. Minecraft and PUBG test servers are still available here, and upcoming Xbox games (like Sea of
Thieves or Grounded) often have betas accessible here. Some
insider content will allow you to install test content immediately, while others
will put you on a list while waiting for a place to open.
If you click Xbox One Update Preview on the System tab, you can do so to receive console updates earlier than the public. Multiple preview rings can be attached if you have leveled your program by completing surveys and testing content. The higher your level, the more you will be selected for the content.
- The Omega level is open to everyone. In it you will receive the updates, still in front of the public, but after receiving more tests and bug reports from previous levels. The risk of encountering bugs at this level is low.
- The Delta tier will give you updates a bit earlier, with a moderate risk of the update being buggy. You have access to it on level two.
- Beta level is achieved by reaching level five and being in the program for three months. Receive updates earlier than the previous two levels.
- The Alpha level is only available by invitation to longtime insiders who have a history of testing providing feedback. The content here is very early access and can be quite buggy.
- The last level is called Alpha Skip Ahead. This is again only available by invitation and you receive content before everyone else. Sometimes, in fact, you'll get content that other levels never see.
If you want to exit the update preview or change the level you are in, you can do so by clicking this section again and clicking Manage.
Xbox Insider on Windows 10
Join the
The Insider program on Windows 10 is as easy as it is on console. Like that
situation, you will need to install an app. Open the Microsoft Store or
open the home bar search bar and search for Xbox Insider Hub. Again, the icon
will be of a controller in a speech bubble, but blue instead of green this
time. When it's ready, launch the app. Again, you will need to accept the
terms and conditions that you will send them data about the tested content.
Now that you're an Insider, you can access Insider Content. In this section, you can always join Windows 10 test servers for Minecraft and upcoming game tests for Xbox exclusives when available. You can also participate in tests for certain applications and join the Windows Gaming test program. This will give you access to special games and features that Microsoft introduces to PC users playing Windows 10.
As the
Xbox One Insider Program, you will also have access to quests, polls and more
communication points to let Microsoft know what you think of the tested product
content.
