Blocking or deactivating Instagram comments has until recently been a privilege of specific types of accounts. For some time, however, things have finally changed to the delight of users!
Celebrities and companies, for Instagram, have a particular importance; it is the reason why, sometimes, some features are dedicated only to these categories. But the leaders of the social network know how to understand when something originally reserved for the "elite" it can be particularly "useful" for the whole community.
This is the case filter on offensive words: introduced a few months ago for celebrities and companies, this allows hide comments that contain certain words set by the account owner.
As promised by Instagram shortly after, this feature was finally made available to all users. In other words, it is now possible define one or more offensive words which, if present in a comment, ne they will result in non-visualization, effectively blocking Instagram comments.
Plus, Instagram will show the “most relevant” comments first - in other words, those from your friends.
At the moment it is only possible to add the filter for offensive words from the mobile app. In addition to blocking comments, however, you can also disable Instagram comments on content you have already shared or intend to share. Let's see how to do it together.
Block Instagram comments
First, log in to the your profile, then tap on the wheel (iOS) or on the three dots (Android) and, from the Options menu, select Comments.
At this point the game is done: activate the drop-down menu at "Hide inappropriate comments”And insert, at the bottom, the words that will cause the comment not to appear.
You can obviously define one or more words; in the second case, these will be separated by a comma.
Disable Instagram comments
Before posting photos, videos or albums
Open Instagram and tap the plus (+) or camera button to compose a new post. Add a photo or video you want to share, without forgetting the hashtags. Before tapping on Share, under the caption, you will find the sharing settings and the voice 'Advanced Settings'. Tap "Advanced Settings". There is only one entry here and it is Disable comments: enable it and your post will not be commentable by anyone.
This option applies to all photos in an Instagram album that you have created if you have used the carousel feature.
After posting photos, videos or albums
Go to the Instagram photo, video or album you want to disable comments on. Tap the options button at the top right of the post. A menu with a series of items will be displayed to you: all you have to do is tap on Disable comments to deactivate them. If a post already has comments, even deactivating them will not delete them but you will have to delete them manually.
Of course, it is not possible to disable comments for photos or videos that do not belong to your account.
