How to Change Your Outfit and Armor in the Outer Worlds
The armor and outfits in The Outer Worlds are the same things - changing the way you look and providing some sort of armor bonus at the same time. When you search buildings and containers in the game, you may see more of them, or you may loot them from dead enemies.
To change your outfit, you need to follow the steps below:
- Open the main menu, then select the Inventory tab.
- Click on the Armor submenu
- Select the armor you want to wear and drag it to the appropriate location.
- You have two slots, one for outfits and one for helmets
Each outfit, or piece of headgear, will give you an armor rating, a skill bonus, and possibly other perks, depending on the item's level. Like weapons, armor can break down over time. So be sure to repair the parts you use often.
In addition to looting them, you can also pick up new outfits and armor from vendors in various encampments throughout the match. You'll have to pay for it with bits, and the price can be reduced by earning a reputation with the faction controlling the seller.
You can also get pieces of armor by killing NPCs, but it's a particularly cruel way to expand your wardrobe, and other characters and factions in the game won't see it well.
