How to check if a card supports Google Pay

Google Pay appears to be one of the most used digital payment systems in the world today. This is obviously due to the fact that Android smartphones are the most popular and most have an NFC chip. The latter technology, however, is not essential for the activation of the service, since the same company from Mountain View, also makes its platform available for online payments and not only in physical stores.

If the smartphone hardware does not present problems and obstacles, the same cannot be said for the supported banking institutions. Adding a payment card to Google Pay in fact it substantially depends on the agreements that the company manages to finalize in our country.

Postepay, UniCredit, Nexi or other, which card is compatible with Google Pay?

While not covering all banking institutions, Google Pay is perhaps the digital payment system with the greatest diffusion in the city. The main reason for this consideration is based on the fact that, objectively, the most used prepaid card in our country is Postepay, compatible exclusively with the Google platform. Among the other participating banks we find: UniCredit, Nexi, N26, Hype, Widiba, UBI Banca, Fineco, Banca Milan and many others.

What must be taken into consideration, however, is that, if a bank supports Google Pay, it does not mean that all the cards of the same bank are compatible. For this reason, the Mountain View company comes to our aid by providing a dedicated web page to the list of cards that can be configured with the aforementioned service and those that cannot do so at the moment.
