How to dominate the Gulag in Call of Duty: Warzone

The Gulag is one of the many new features Call of Duty: Warzone introduced to the battle royale genre. Essentially, the Gulag is your chance to resume the fight after your death. You are thrown 1 on 1 against another fallen player and the winner resumes the match. However, you only have one chance in the Gulag, so you need to make the most of your opportunity.

If you're struggling to win shootouts in the 1v1 arena, we've got some useful strategies to use. The first is to use the many pieces of cover to your advantage. Whether it's broken walls, sinks, or pillars, never get out of these cover points unless you're stalking the enemy.

To go along with this, don't take the first step on your opposition. Let your opponent take a look first and if they miss their shot, you glance back and try to hit your shot. Of course, other factors come into play, such as the weapons provided to you.

Loads in the Gulag are random, although the most common is shotgun class 725. With this weapon you have to make sure that you are shooting as you only get two in each clip. However, other weapons, like pistols, allow a bit more versatility. If you spawn with a weapon at close range, slowly climb up to where your opponent is, let them make a mistake, then move forward to kill.

With longer range weapons, you'll want to play them a bit more passively. If you feel like you have an accurate shot, try to aim for a location that you think the enemy will be. If you happen to take a peek at that spot, fire your shot and then immediately get out of the firing line.

The last tip won't be for everyone, although it will be helpful if the situation arises. In the Gulag, you can watch 1v1 matches in front of you. Sometimes one of your teammates will be in the Gulag and you can watch them fight. However, the scenario can also be reversed when one of your teammates watches you fight. If you happen to be in a group conversation with that specific teammate, have them call you where your opponent is, giving you the advantage.
