Apple implements a feature that allows you to apply restrictions on the use of some applications. This is called Usage time in iOS 12 and later and Restrictions in iOS 11 and earlier releases. Before revealing the specific steps to take, however, we wanted to clarify that it is necessary enter a code set during the blocking phase to be able to see hidden software again.



If yours iPhone is equipped by iOS 12 or later, then it is necessary to exploit the function Usage time. Let's find out how to use it together:

  • Open the Settings pressing ongear icon present on the home screen of iOS and then choose Usage time from the screen that appears.
  • At this point, you choose App limitations if you want to unlock entire categories of applications and enter the pin code set in the blocking phase. In the next screen, press on the category you want to reactivate (eg. social Network) and then tap twice in a row on Eliminate limitation that you find below. Do the same with the other categories.
  • If, on the other hand, you want to unlock specific applications, then choose the item Always allowed rather than App limitations that you always find on the screen Usage time. Once this is done, find the applications to unlock in the section Choose app and tap on + present next to each application to add them to the list of allowed applications.

In the case of system applications integrated by Apple, you will have to choose Allowed apps on the next screen. At this point, activate the previously deactivated applications by simply pressing on the relative ones switches placed next to each name.



Should you have iOS 11 or earlier installed on your iPhone, then you will have to take advantage of the functionality Restrictions, always available in Settings of the operating system of Apple.

Having said that, let's see how to proceed:

  • Open the Settings di iOS pressing ongear icon and then choose Generali.
  • In the next step, tap on Restrictions and enter the pin code previously set.
  • At this point, first press on App and then Allow all apps if you want to unlock only the previously blocked applications or press the button Disable restrictions if you want to completely remove the previously set restrictions.
