One of the tools that you will not receive at the start of the game is the fishing rod. This will surprisingly allow you to fish anywhere there is water, and you can catch all kinds of fish and sell them or use them in various recipes. If you want this tool, you'll have to find it yourself, but luckily it's pretty easy to do.
At the start of the game, a man called Zack will visit your farm and explain that his job is to collect any items you want to sell in the box next to your field. He then resells it and gives you the money. You can actually get a fishing rod from Zack if you go visit him at his house near Mineral Beach.
You can visit Zack between 11:00 a.m. and 16:00 p.m. any day of the week except holidays. Talk to him and he will tell you that he has an old fishing rod for you. The fishing rod works the same as all other tools when it comes to leveling and leveling it. It will level up right after using it, and each level will allow you to level it up, as long as you've found the right types of ore in the Spring Mine.
Fishing in the game is extremely easy. Find water, such as a pond, lake, or river, and equip your fishing rod in the tool pocket. Press A to cast the line, then look closely at the bob.
