Flashback Tapes in Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time allow you to unlock additional levels that you can play. Flashback strips can be found throughout the game and will unlock new levels for you to play. The catch is, you have to reach the strip without dying to be able to pick it up.
As each level does not contain a Flashback strip and there are 21 in total, we thought it would be helpful to have a list of which levels have strips, so you can be very careful there and know exactly when you can't die if you want to find one.
The list below is not complete, but we will continue to update it as we find more tapes.

- Booty Calls - Salty Wharf
- Jetboard Jetboard – Salty Wharf
- Give It A Ride - Tranquility Falls
- Draggin ’On – Tranquility Falls
- Imbalance - Tranquility Falls
- Off Beat - Mosquito Swamp
- Run It Bayou - Mosquito Swamp
The good news is that the tapes aren't hard to get, and even if you die you should be able to see where the tape is clearly enough, you just won't be able to get them back until you replay the tape. level and got to this point without dying.
To read the flashback level, you can access the small screen of the level map, shown in the image above. This will give you a list of all the Flashback Tapes you've collected and allow you to play through those levels if you want to.
