Getting your hands on Tommy's Matchbook, Destiny 2's new exotic assault rifle, is super easy to do. What's more difficult is getting the Catalyst to really unleash the full power of this weapon. Follow our guide to get the weapon, then go visit Banshee at the tower. The gunsmith will have a new quest for you called A Good Match, and by completing it you'll get the Exotic Catalyst for Tommy's Matchbook.
You can't get this quest from Banshee until you have the Tommy's Matchbook Exotic Assault Rifle in your collection, so keep that in mind.
For this quest, you will need to complete three different objectives while playing Strikes, Nightfalls, Gambit, or in the Crucible.

- Auto Rifle Combatant Multikills 0/200
- 0/100 Automatic Rifle Guardian Death
You'll earn the most points from Crucible victories, Gambit victories, and Legendaries or higher-level Night Trials. It should be noted that progress cannot decrease, so if you lose it it just means that you are progressing a bit slower. Guardian Kills can happen in Gambit or the Crucible, but the Crucible is a much better place to do them quickly.
Multiple skills happen when you quickly kill two targets in a row with the same weapon, so the best place to do this step is either in Strikes or Gambit matches and just mow down enemies when they come at you. Tommy's Matchbook is a great weapon to use while completing this quest, as it will perform well in both PvE and PvP activities.
It's really just a grind, and how quickly that goes will depend on your own individual skill levels.
