How to hit your opponent in UFC 4

If you're new to the UFC franchise, the first thing you need to know to do is hit your opponent. UFC fighters can use their hands or legs to punch their opponent, and knowing how to hit strikes before entering the octagon is extremely important, otherwise you will be caught in some very uncomfortable situations.

There are two types of strikes in UFC 4: basic and advanced strikes. To throw a basic jab at the opponent's head, press X / Square or Y / Triangle, if you are left-handed. To jab the body, press LT / L2 in addition to X / Square or Y / Triangle. Basic kicks can come with the A / X button or the B / O button.

As for advanced strikes, there are quite a few. First, let's move on to the brackets. Hooks basically use the same controls as jabs, but with one big difference. Besides pressing the X / Square or Y / Triangle button, you need to press the LB / L1 button. Keep in mind, however, that this is how you hit your opponent in the head with a hook. To hit the opponent with a hook to the body, you must also hit LT / L2. To outbid, press RB / R1 and X / Square or Y / Triangle (for left-handed fighters).

Here's a full rundown of other ways to hit your opponent:

    • Round kick (head) - LB / L1 + A / X or B / O
    • Round kick (body) - LT / L2 + A / X or B / O
    • Tornado Spinning Lead Kick - RB / R1 + X / Square + A / X
    • Back Rotation Heel Kick - LB / L1 + RB / R1 + Y / Triangle
    • Flying Knee (can only be used when the opponent's back is against the cage) - LB / L1 + RT / R2 + B / O
    • Spinning Kick (can only be used when the opponent's back is against the cage) - LB / L1 + RB / R1 + A / X
    • Showtime Kick (can be used in parallel with the cage walls) - LB / L1 + RB / R1 + B / O
    • Knee to Leg - A / X or B / O
    • Knees to Body - LT / L2 + A / X or B / O
    • Knees to Head - LB / L1 + A / X or B / O
