It's official: the possibility of inserting GIFs and animations in Instagram stories. This new function arose thanks to the collaboration with Giphy, the famous GIF creation and sharing service, which allows us to have an ever-increasing list of images to insert.
What are GIFs? These are images (as understandable by the name “Graphic Interchange Format”) that allow the visualization of small ones animations, giving dynamism.
This image format has depopulated the World Wide Web in recent times, as it succeeds in replacing the traditional ones emoticons e Message writings.
How to insert GIFs in Instagram stories
Inserting these animations into Instagram Stories is quite simple, and it works on both iOS and Android.
Here's how:
- We open the Instagram application from our smartphone (iOS or Android)
- From the home we click on camera key top left, or we make one swipe to the left: we will find ourselves in the camera interface.
- So let's take a photo from "Normal" (option located under the shutter) or we upload a photo from the gallery, making one swipe in alto or by clicking on image pane lower left.
- In the story editor (the interface that allows us to modify the image), we click on the icon of adhesives (the last of the three at the top right) and we choose between the various options "GIF".
- In the new drop-down that appears, we can choose between the most used GIFs or we can find more specific ones using the search bar which is located at the top.
- After clicking on the GIF that interests us, we can resize it e move it.
- After editing, click on "Send to.." and subsequently on "My story".

The introduction of this new feature is paving the way for the prevalence of Instagram, now acquired by Facebook, over Snapchat.
