The amount of loot you can acquire from Path of Exile is quite large. Whether you find it scattered around the world or buy it from a seller, your inventory will never be empty. However, unlike other online RPGs, there is no detailed way to redeem the loot you find or earn. There is no market like in Elder Scrolls online for example, which can be quite disappointing for new players.
While the game itself doesn't give you a way to trade, there is a website you can use. It's official and supported by Path of Exile, so you don't have to worry about losing your account or being suspended for using it. The website, Poe.trade, can even be accessed through the official Chemin de l'Exil website. Here's how you can use the website to sell your junk loot or buy some must-have items.
First of all, you'll want to visit Poe.trade. You can follow the link we have provided or find it on the Path of Exile website. Once there, you can search for any piece of loot in the game. This can be customized down to the smallest detail in case you are looking for something more specific.

If the item you are looking for is sold, it will appear with the name of the player selling it. If you would like to purchase the item, tap "Whisper" next to the seller's name, which notifies the player that you want to purchase their item.
After that, it is up to the seller to get back to you. If they do, you'll likely have to visit their hideout to collect your piece of loot. When you go to the seller's hideout, make sure you have the correct amount of currency agreed upon. If all goes well, the seller will contact you to exchange, you will return the currency, and the exchange is complete.
You can also list an item for sale if you wish, which can be done at the bottom of the Poe.trade page. Although selling an item requires you to have a Premium Stash tab. These can be purchased through the in-game store.
