When a program is no longer used, it is recommended that you remove it. Uninstalling programs is not difficult, especially with a PC running Windows 10, Microsoft's latest operating system. The OS provides two ways to uninstall programs completely and cleanly.
Uninstall programs on Windows 10
There are two effective ways to uninstall programs on Windows 10: via the Settings or with the Control Panel.
Uninstall a program from Settings
To permanently remove a program directly in the settings, go to: Home > Settings > App > App and features.
A list with all installed programs will appear: click on the program you want to remove and select Uninstall.
Uninstall a program from the Control Panel
If you are looking for a more in-depth but also less easy solution, go to the menu Home look for the Control Panel.
Go in Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a program.
Another list of installed programs will appear: to uninstall the one you want, right click on it and select Uninstall.
Alternatives to uninstall
To remove a program, you can try the following methods:
- In the menu Home, right click on the application you want to remove. In the pop-up that appears, select Uninstall.
- On desktop, right click on the shortcut of the program you want to remove and select Open file path. The program is usually present in the program directory uninstall.exe, it will be enough to start it.
This last procedure is not always executable, because some programs do not include this type of removal.
