Destiny 2's new season has released, Season of Dawn, and returns to the focus on the time travel keeper, Osiris. With a new season here, you need to unlock a new artifact to access an array of useful mods for your armor and weapons.
To unlock the artifact, you need to talk to Osiris and make your way through the A Matter of Time quest. You will receive it first at the start of the season. After speaking to him, he will introduce you to the current threat and what the Red Legion is trying to do by controlling time. Their objective is to make them win the Red War. The quest allows you to collect The Components of the Sundial, bind an Obelisk to the Sundial, charge it, and then activate it.
After that, you return to Osiris and complete a sundial mission. In this mission, it is you and five other Guardians who try to stop the Red Legion in their tracks. At the end of it, you fight the Big Boss of the Week and take them out. Bosses have different mechanics that you need to watch out for, so make sure you're up and ready to adjust with your Fireteam.
At the end of A Matter of Time, you must return to Osiris. Talk to him and he will give you the Lantern of Osiris, which is your artifact for the season. You'll need to upgrade it to unlock different modifications, granting you a variety of bonuses for your Guardian.

You'll want to use different combinations of modifications for your Guardian depending on how your playstyle is and what Exotics you've equipped.
