How to use the gun in Doom Eternal

le
Condemner's 2016 release brought with it a revival of many classic weapons
in the series. The BFG, Super Shotgun and more were on full display for
way to destroy the army of hell demons.

The very first weapon in this game was the pistol. The gun is a familiar mainstay in the Doom franchise that oddly enough didn't find its way into the final version of Doom Eternal. However, Id Software has created a fully functional gun, and through the use of the Cheat Engine on PC, you can use it in the game. Here's how.

How and where to unlock the gun in Doom Eternal

As shown on Twitter user DaveOshry's page, the pistol can switch between a single shot and a burst shot with its mod. Supposedly, it was cut because it didn't match the flow of the game.

You've probably heard that DOOM Eternal originally had a pistol and YES it's still in-game and accessible through console controls (with Cheat Engine). I've heard it's been removed because it didn't really match the fight flow. Still pretty pretty.

As mentioned above, to use the gun in Doom Eternal, you will need to download Cheat Engine and also grab this file for Doom Eternal. Once you have them open Doom Eternal, but TAB on your desktop and load the file. Click "Select Process to Open" from the "File" menu, select Doom Eternal and accept the following pop-up window.

In the lower panel of the Cheat Engine is a line of text written in purple, ending with "release-pc-hotfix2". Click the box on the left to open the submenu and check the boxes next to the console command and noclip command entries below. TAB return to your game.

Back in the game, press the TILDE button (between ESC and TAB, to the left of "1"). This will open the Developer Console. Type in the console "give weapon / player / pistol." Hit enter and the gun will appear in the Doom Slayer's hand with full animation and all. Have fun with another gun in Doom Eternal.
