Mario Kart Tour- Do you compete against robots or other players?

Mario Kart Tour I have been living live for over 12 hours now, and so far it has been an innovative and fun game even though it was on mobile devices. However, there is one question that was asked even before the game launched from places like Reddit: are we playing with live players or with bots?

Mario Kart Tour- Do you compete against robots or other players?

The answer is somewhat confusing, but simple at the same time. While the names of the riders we face have a ton of variety, ranging from English names to Japanese names, we are playing against bots. The match doesn't even start until the player taps on their mobile device. The same goes for the tutorial mode where the robots wait for the player to start the race.

It also adds the fact that the load times for the races are fast. If real people were playing the same track at the same time as you it would take a little bit of time like playing Mario Kart online.

The game will get progressively difficult with the number of cuts you make, but it is also obvious that we only play with bots and not with friends or with anyone live. You can even pause the game and come back to it whenever you want, which negates the purpose of playing live at the moment.

Hopefully in the future, multiplayer will give players a chance to be competitive on the go, like in previous titles in the main series. After all, this is the launch date of the game. Over time, Mario Kart Tour will find its place and constantly update itself with more content and provide competitive play between friends and gamers all over the world.
