Mario Kart Tour: How the leaderboard works

Mario Kart Tour pits players against an array of tracks on which they will engage other AI drivers who are all aiming for the top spot. At the end of the race, players receive bonus points based on their performance, driver, car, glider, and what they do during the race. These points add up to a total, determining the number of stars they receive for advancing to the next track in the cup. After the Yoshi Cup, players will unlock the ranking system, which pits 19 players against each other to see who can get the highest score. How does the ranking and this scoring system work?

How ranking works in Mario Kart Tour

Before you can start thinking about the ranking system, make sure you complete the Yoshi Cup. This should be the third one you tackle in the game. Once you're done, you'll unlock the Leaderboard and the Friends List.

When you look at the ranking list, you'll see 19 other names with a bunch of numbers next to them. These numbers represent the overall score a player has achieved based on their performance over the three races available in the cup. Only the top 10 players in your ranking group will advance. It is divided into pieces:

  • The top three advanced three thirds
  • From fourth to sixth, two-thirds ahead
  • Seventh to tenth place advances by one rank.
  • Players between 11 and 20 remain in the cup.

Depending on where you landed, you will not only progress in stages, but you will receive a reward.

  • The first place winner receives 20 rupees
  • Second place receives 15 rubies
  • Third place receives 10 rubies
  • Fourth to sixth place receives five rubies
  • From seventh to tenth place, collect 300 coins
  • Players between 11 and 20 do not receive any rewards

Not only will the more active players have the opportunity to compete against players of the same level, but they will also have the opportunity to attract more drivers, vehicles and gliders. Rubies are a res
