BD-1 isn't just a friendly droid, it's an essential partner in your quest. BD-1 hangs out on our hero Cal's shoulder as he is busy using his powers to dismantle the Empire, one Stormtrooper at a time. BD-1 comes into play in three ways: it can throw stimuli for Cal who heals you, it can scan objects in the environment to add to your data collection, and it can hack Imperial locks. You won't be able to do this last thing until you get this update.

To get the Upgrading the BD-1 Scomp Link, you must first reach the planet Zeffo and earn the Force Push power for Cal. It is necessary to access the area with this convenient upgrade.
le Scomp link allows your BD-1 droid to open locked chests all around the galaxy. You will have Force Push in the Tomb of Eilram. It cannot be missed.
To find the upgrade, start at the Meditation Checkpoint located at Patinated monument. Find the checkpoint on the island in the center with the red-lit metal wall, waterfall, and ice wall nearby. Head towards the red-lit hallway - just past the hallway you'll see a cracked door that you can open with Force Push.
Scomp Link's upgrade is simply applied around a wall that you can climb. This upgrade you can open Imperial chests and doors! Very, very useful for accessing areas that appear to be completely locked. It is completely optional and can be forgotten early.
