Palace Guard Aserai Mameluke
The Aserai Mameluke Palace Guard is a unit that you get through the Aserai Mameluke Soldier Troop Tree. This is the fifth level of the unit, and it's a two-handed fighter capable of slicing through legions of enemies in several robust blows. You'll want to make sure some archers are defending them against all ranged units, or create a shield wall to make sure they have protection from Calvary.

For those who want a sturdy shield unit protecting their flank, the Sturgian Shock Troop is a great choice. It doesn't have such powerful stats as the other units on this page, but it does switch between a gun and one-handed combat, using a massive shield throughout the fight. The larger shield compared to the Imperial Legionnaire and Battanian's trained launcher makes Shock Troop a great choice. If you want a ranged variant, you can train for the veteran Sturgian warrior, which throws javelins.
