As you play through The Outer Worlds In Doom That Came To Roseway, you will meet Cassandra O'Malley. She has locked herself in a cell and needs your help to get out. But should you kill her or set her free?
The Outer Worlds - Should You Free Or Kill Cassandra O'Malley?
When you find Cassandra, you can talk to her and find out that she is the person who led the raid on the Secret Lab. She isn't very sorry for killing people there, but she also doesn't pose a direct threat to you. It is therefore not necessary to kill her immediately. You have to decide what to do, because she owns Anton's Research, which you have to either return to Anton or sell to Gladys on the Groundbreaker.
You can also be sure that Cassandra, being free, will lead to more violence and death. There is a good solution, however. If your persuasion skills are high enough, you can convince Cassandra to end hostilities with the guards. Head back to the entrance to the Hidden Lab and you can convince the guards to stop fighting with the raiders. Just tell the Chief of the Guard that you think he has more to offer than dying in an unnamed lab.
The security guards will agree to leave and give you the key to open all the doors of the laboratory, which will allow you to free Cassandra. If you choose to kill Cassandra, you'll get some XP for killing an enemy and Anton's research. If you let her go, you can get Bits and tell her that she has to hand over Anton's research anyway.
If you leave Cassandra live, you'll also have access to Lillian's Journey Into Smoke mission, which you'll meet outside of the Secret Lab when you leave. It is better to let it live, simply from the point of view of experience.
