What are Vex Chassis Components in Destiny 2?

Vex's offensive is here in Destiny 2. The Vex invade the Black Garden and attempt to invade the moon. Their arrival also brought a further drop in the form of Vex chassis components. Every once in a while when you kill a Vex you will notice this bright green drop appear from the wreckage. In this guide, we tell you what they are for.

What are Vex Chassis Components in Destiny 2?

Vex Chassis Components tie in with a new Weekly Challenge (formerly known as Milestones) for Ikora. You need to fill a bar by collecting Vex Coins, in this case Vex Chassis Components. This will earn you powerful Tier 3 gear, which is not to be laughed at.

The fastest way to collect these components is to do Vex Invasion on the Moon, where dozens and dozens of Vex enemies will spawn and you can farm them very easily. The alternative is to only make Vex Offensive passes in the Black Garden. Again, this involves a large number of Vex enemies, so it's really quick to equip the Vex chassis components you need.

Vex's offensive was launched in line with the new Garden of Salvation raid. Players have been sent on a mission to find Vex and Vex Gate Lords, to kill them. In doing so, they gained access to the Vex Offensive, an attack by the Guardians on the Black Garden in an attempt to stem the flow of Vex that flowed from it.

As far as I know, this will be an event that will slowly get worse over the season. Therefore, as new content and challenges arise, we will keep you updated.

One more thing you need to know about Vex chassis components is that even after completing the weekly challenge and collecting your gear, they will still drop from dead Vex enemies. I'm not sure yet if this is a bug or if there is some other mechanism to be discovered in the background.
