There will be a standard PlayStation 5 version that accepts discs, and then a purely digital edition for gamers who prefer to download their games rather than rely on discs. Other than one that accepts discs and the other can only download games, there shouldn't be any noticeable differences.

The two consoles are almost identical to each other, with the exception of the traditional version having a large divet on the side for players to place in their discs. Both should work almost the same, with the same hardware inside. However, some owners of the digital edition are probably curious to see if the digital version has additional memory space, as they will need it to run almost all of their games from the console hardware. They won't have the luxury of using a disk to store a lot of the details. Everything will be the PlayStation 5, which can add up extremely quickly.

We don't know the extent of the exhaustive differences, but we do know what consoles look like. We can expect them to come out on vacation 2020. We don't know the price yet either.
