Will Vaas be featured in Far Cry 6?

Far Cry 6 is slated for release in 2021 and will feature Breaking Bad and The Mandalorian actor Giancarlo Esposito as Yara's dictator. While the game's reveal has garnered a lot of hype because of its setting, one fan theory suggests that hardcore fans of the franchise have more to look forward to in the next game.

IGN Executive Editor Joe Skrebels posted a tweet that highlights the similarities between Vaas and the child who is shown in the Far Cry 5 poster, Yara's dictator's son Diego. Vaas and Diego have a scar on their right eyebrow, which leads people to believe that Diego is actually a childhood version of Vaas. Vaas voice actor Michael Mando revealed to Reddit a few months ago that Vaas is his spirit animal and he could "reprise the role."

Considering the fact that Vaas has been one of the most popular characters Ubisoft has ever created, it makes sense that he brings his backstory to audiences. However, there are a few things to note. First of all, the Diego-like scar is only present in the live-action version of Vaas which is played by Mando himself and not in the in-game version. Additionally, Vaas was born in the Rook Islands and grew up there, and since there is no mention of her association with Yara, the theory hardly makes sense.

That being said, Ubisoft has also manipulated the lore of its titles in the past to accommodate storytelling, so it shouldn't be surprising to see the same here as well. Even though there is a link, it seems much less likely that Ubisoft will reveal it before the game's launch, so fans will have to wait a while to find out more about it.
