World of Warcraft Shadowlands - How to Earn Great Vault Rewards

Complete Raid Encounters, Mythic + Races, and earn PvP Honor in Shadowlands to access loot from the Large Vault.

In Oribos, in the Hall of Holding, is the large safe, and you'll notice a few quests from the NPCs nearby. None of these are required to access the Large Vault, but you can get Legendary Power by clearing the base quest "Earn a Piece of Loot in the Vault", so choose at least one. .

Interacting with Shadowlands' Large Vault will bring up its interface, and you'll notice that there are three categories with three tasks each. The three categories are straightforward: raids, Mythic dungeons, and (rated) PvP - pretty much all of the major co-op endgame activities that have been around for some time.

There are three tasks per category, and none of them is complex. They are:

  • Raid - Complete Raid Bosses 3/7/10
  • Mythic - Complete Mythic Stone Dungeons 1/4/10
  • PvP - Earn 1250/2500/6250 honor points through rated PvP

As long as you complete any of these tasks, you will receive a piece of endgame loot after the weekly reset. There is a bit of nuance here, as I mentioned earlier. First of all, the more tasks you complete, the more loot you will have to choose from after the reset. You can only choose one item, but you'll have a better chance of plugging a hole in your current loadout.

Second, the quality of the loot is determined by the difficulty of the event you complete. For example: Clearing three raid bosses on Normal will provide loot at the same item level as the Normal raid (200 as of posting). Going to the elimination of 7 bosses on Heroic will then increase the level of the item. Additionally, you can crush previous attempts, so if you keep making a full untap on Mythic difficulty, your loot will increase accordingly.

For Mythic dungeons, your top ten key dungeons will be used, especially the 10th, 4th, and 1st. You can continue to run Mythic Stone dungeons to increase the item level of loot awarded by the Large Chest. Rated PvP is even easier: All rewards are based on your highest slice win of the week. You can even track your Great Vault rewards in PvP through the Group Finder.

So, if you play Shadowlands casually, you can still get one item per week from the Great Vault, and hardcore endgame players can use it to fill in their loadout gaps if the RNG and loot fail. not take place this week. It's a useful system for all players, but you'll need to engage with the co-op side of the endgame to take advantage of it.
