How to open locked doors

When we talk about locked doors, we are not talking about the red doors that say they need someone's help to open, or even those that say they are not allowed on the other side. . We are specifically referring to doors that look like the one at the top of the guide, which will indicate that they are locked when you try to interact with them for the first time.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla isn't going to make us pick locks like it's Skyrim or something, but instead we need to find a key to let us into the locked door. The good news is, if you come across a locked door, there should be a relatively close key.

As you can see in the image directly above, there is a white wrench icon that will sometimes appear on the screen. At first this will not only appear, but when you use your Odin Sight by pressing R3, it will appear. This means that you have to constantly press it into the area while looking in all directions, which will very often lead you to an enemy. If so, you have to kill the enemy so that they drop the key which you can then loot.

There are also other times when the key is just placed somewhere and you have to retrieve it wherever it is. These aren't always the easiest to find either, as they can sometimes be in an area that is harder to find, like the one that was hidden in a sealed well you had to break the top into to get in.

Once you have the key in hand, head to the locked door in the area and hold Y / Triangle to open it. Inside the building is always some kind of good treasure, so finding the key is always worth it.
