Borderlands 3 is all about guns, and it's always painful to have to leave one on the ground. Or sometimes you might even miss a good weapon while looking through the pile of loot that just dropped from a boss. Fortunately, Borderlands 3 has a good system in place to help you with that.
Borderlands 3 - Lost Loot Explanation
As soon as you reach the shrine, you will start exploring the ship. At the very end, near the fast travel point, your room, and the golden chest, you'll find the Lost Loot Machine.
The Lost Loot machine will magically collect items that you missed or had to leave on the ground. You can just visit the machine every time you get to Sanctuary to see what it has picked up. Just interact with it and it will spit all your items on the floor. From there, you can decide if they are worth keeping or if you want to sell them. The capacity isn't very high with just five items, but it can be improved if you purchase some of the relevant upgrades from Marcus. Just head to his store and grab the upgrades to increase the number of items he can hold.
The system doesn't seem to prioritize rarities, or anything like that, it'll just grab all it can of what you left behind and teleport them to the ship for you.
You don't want to rely on him collecting the right stuff for you, so make sure you always try to sort your loot and bring the best stuff with you.
