While the Iron Banner is behind us in Destiny 2, the latest game patch notes have introduced a new event. This is a community event bringing together players who come together to take on the many challenges of the planet Mars. Players who want to take part in the event and help get everything taken care of have the option of tackling four different tasks. Here are the four tasks players will need to complete by a specific date, and how players can get involved in the event.
Destiny 2 March Community Event
First task
Defeat 175 Wave 000 Escalation Protocol bosses
You don't want to go through this wave of fighting alone, especially with Bok Litur, Hunger of Xol, being your opponent. This particular boss drops three weapons: a shotgun, an SMG, and a sniper rifle. Wayfarer requires the sniper rifle and the sniper rifle. Therefore, if you haven't completed it yet, you will find that now is a good time to delete it this week.
Second task
Defeat 300 million beehives on Mars
For this task, all you need to do is roam Mars for a little while, completing a handful of public events and doing your part to clear the area. While you can do this from the general area, any Hive you kill in any of the bigger events like Nightfalls will count as well. So you don't have to run around the public area of Mars, crossing the hordes roaming the landscape.
Third task
Defeat Nokris 150 times by nightfall, defeat Xol 000 times by nightfall
Now the community event becomes even easier, with players being required to kill two of the fastest bosses in the game. To kill these bosses in particular, you'll have to run Strange Terrain Nightfall and the Testament of the Thousand to execute the big respective villain. Both events are relatively straightforward, so if you want to participate with a random team, you should be fine. Will of the Thousands is considered by many to be a great way to return to the game, as it offers a stable reintroduction of the game's shooting mechanics.
Fourth task
Use 300 override frequencies
Many will ask what it is. Those who entered the game shortly after Warmind had become a staple may not be too familiar with the term. Substitution frequencies occur when players combine resonance roots to locate hidden Rasputin nodes on Mars. You must have completed the will of thousands at least once to gain access to priority frequencies. There are several video guides available on YouTube detailing the many locations of these devices, making it a frustrating, albeit slow, task to accomplish.
When all of these tasks are completed, and players who have completed at least one of the Nocturnes mentioned above, will receive an emblem as a reward for their problems. The event is already underway and ends on September 10.
