FFXIV Patch 5.45 Combat System

Blue mage

  • The maximum level of the blue mage has been increased to 70.
    • The Blue Mage cannot participate in certain tasks such as the Forbidden Land, Eureka, and Ultimate Raids.
  • New blue magic spells have been added.
  • New stages have been added to the Masked Carnival.
    • These stages will become available when you complete certain Blue Mage Job Quests.
  • New entries have been added to the Blue Mage Journal.
    • These new entries will appear in the journal after completing certain Blue Mage Job Quests.

Queen shrine



  • The large-scale Delubrum Reginae service has been added.
  • Delubrum Reginae is a 24-player assignment in which players must brave the depths of the ancient ruins of Bozjan, effectively using lost actions to avoid its countless perils and traps.
    • Level required: Disciple of War or Magic level 80
    • Item Level Requirement: -
    • Group size: 24 players
    • Time limit: 180 minutes
  • requirements
    • Fit for a queen
    • Disciple of War or Magic level 80
    • Ganges (X: 6,5 Y: 5,8)

    • Players must first complete the quest “A Sign of What's Coming to Happen”.
  • Queen entre dans Delubrum
    • Players can enter Delubrum Reginae by speaking with Mikoto in Lost Trace or Sjeros in Gangos (X: 5.5 Y: 5.4). Once registered, players will be matched regardless of their job role. To enter as a party or alliance, the leader of the party or alliance must be the one speaking with the NPCs mentioned above.
    • Players are free to change zones after registering.
    • When registering as an alliance, please note that alliances will be temporarily dissolved upon entry.
  • Task-specific rules and features
    • The following specific rules and features will apply when entering Delubrum Reginae:
  • Level synchronization
    • All equipment will be adjusted to item level 430. Additionally, material bonuses will be ignored, regardless of the item level of the equipment affixed to the material.
  • Party composition
    • Unlike other instantiated tasks, players are free to dissolve and reform parties within Delubrum Reginae.
    • Please note that if you enter Delubrum Reginae as a party member, even if you leave it while on duty, you will be returned to that party upon exiting the instance.
  • Countdown timer, field markers and signs
    • Unlike other instantiated tasks, the use of countdowns, field markers, and signs is shared among all players in the instance.
  • Lost actions
    • All lost actions obtained on the southern front of Bozjan, or previously defined as service actions, will be transferred to this duty. A Cache of Lost Finds and Resistance Evaluator are also available at the start of the instance.
    • While players cannot change jobs after starting this assignment, lost actions can be used to help compensate for roles that may be missing from your party.
  • Traps
    • Players can encounter traps while making their way through Delubrum Reginae. Traps are invisible and, when triggered, can deal large amounts of damage or afflict players with any number of debilitating effects. That said, there are some lost actions that will detect traps before they are activated.
  • penalties
    • Players incapacitated during this duty will lose their courage. An additional penalty will be incurred when returning to the start of the instance or abandoning the duty without being increased.
    • The resistance rank cannot decrease by losing courage.
  • Gear Effects
    • Additional effects of Bozjan equipment will also be applied to Delubrum Reginae.
  • Rewards
    • The treasure chests that appear in this instance yield separate rewards for each player. Make sure to open up whatever you find as you make your way through the ruins.
  • The large-scale Delubrum Reginae (Savage) service has been added.
  • A preformed 48 player alliance is required to enter Delubrum Reginae (Savage).
    • Level required: Disciple of War or Magic level 80
    • Item Level Requirement: -
    • Group size: 48 players
    • Time limit: 180 minutes
  • requirements
    • After completing the following requirements, players must speak with the troubled gentleman of Gangos (X: 6,6 Y: 5,0) to unlock this duty.
    • Completing the quest "Fit for a Queen"
    • Resistance rank of 15 or higher
    • Amassed at least 700000 points
  • Enter Delubrum Reginae (Savage)
    • After forming an alliance of 48 players, the alliance leader must speak with the struggling gentleman in Gangos (X: 6,6 Y: 5,0) to begin the assignment.
  • Rights specific rules
    • The following specific function will be applied to the Delubrum Reginae (Savage) entry:
    • Resurrection restrictions
      • Inside Delubrum Reginae (Savage), players will be subjected to a status effect that prevents resurrection by certain means. The increase effects granted through the limits and certain lost shares are exempt from this restriction.
      • After being incapacitated, if you are not resuscitated within a certain period of time, you will be forcibly removed from your duties. Additionally, the ability to jump back to the start of the instance on incapacitation has been replaced with an option to drop duty.
    • The rules and characteristics specific to the following tasks are the same as those found in Delubrum Reginae:
      • Level synchronization
      • Party composition
      • Countdown timer, field markers and signs
      • Lost actions
      • Traps
      • penalties
      • Gear Effects
      • Rewards

Thirteen new Forgotten Shards and Lost Actions have been added.



  • Among these new lost actions are some powerful abilities that can only be used in Delubrum Reginae.
  • The following adjustments have been made to lost actions:
    • Resistance Potions Kit: Reduced size from 4 to 3.
    • Ether Resistance Kit: Reduced size from 5 to 3.
    • Resistance Medikit: Reduced size from 4 to 3.

New field notes have been added.

  • The following additions and adjustments have been made to the Southern Front of Bozjan:
    • New rewards have been added for Skirmishes, and the drop rate for some rewards has been adjusted.
    • New rewards have been added for critical engagements, and the drop rate for some rewards has been adjusted.
    • New rewards have been added for the Battle of Castrum Lacus Litore.
    • New items are available in exchange for Bozjan clusters.

A new Resistance Weapon Story quest has been added.

  • Players will be able to improve the strength of their resistance weapons by completing this quest.

    • Resistance weapon quests use a system that will force players to use the same class or job that they accepted the quest with.

The strength of the echo tuned in Eden's Verse (Savage) has been increased.



  • The echo will take effect at the entrance of Eden's Verse (Savage) raids, increasing player maximum HP, damage dealt, and healing power by 15%.
    • Unlike other instances, the Echo's strength will not increase if all party members are incapacitated.
  • Season eighteen of the holiday will begin.
    • At the end of the season, the best players in each data center will receive vouchers through the moogle delivery service.
    • Players finishing at Bronze level or above can claim rewards by chatting with the Party Quartermaster at Wolves' Den Pier (X: 4,9 Y: 5,7).

      • The Season 18 leaderboard will be updated daily, starting the day after the start of the season. In the event of an error, the ranking will not be updated on that day.

A new Skysteel Tool Quest has been added.

  • Players will be able to improve the strength of their Skysteel tools by completing this quest.

    • Players must first complete the "Tools of Tomorrow" quest.
  • Improved Skysteel tools
    • Each Skysteel Tool requires a certain number of items to be delivered to Emeny in the Firmament (x: 9,7 Y: 14,6) before it can be upgraded. Please note that the required items vary depending on the tool.
  • Disciples of the Hand
    • After completing the 'Weirdness at the end' quest, new recipes will be added to the crafting journal that can be used to upgrade your Skysteel tools.
    • Skysteel tools must be equipped when creating these new recipes.
  • Disciples of the Earth
    • After completing the 'Curiosity at the End' quest, the materials needed to upgrade your Skysteel tools can be gathered from specified assembly points.
    • Skysteel tools must be equipped when collecting these items.
  • Sinner
    • After completing the 'Curiosity at the End' quest, players will be able to use Signature Skyballs to catch the fish needed to upgrade your Skysteel Tool from specified fishing locations.
    • Skysteel tools must be equipped when catching the required fish.
    • Signature Skyballs can be purchased from Denys in the Mist (X: 8.0 Y: 10.0).

New gathering points for miners and botanists have been added.

New items have been added to collection points.

New fish have been added.

New mounts have been added.

A new chocobo bard has been added.

New minions have been added.

New fashion accessories have been added.

Final Fantasy XIV system changes

New achievements and titles have been added.

The Party Finder can now be used to recruit a 48-player alliance for the Delubrum Reginae (Savage) duty.

The Group Members tab of the Social window has been adjusted to accommodate alliances of 48 players.

The verification window has been adjusted to accommodate alliances of 48 players.

The following text command has been added:

  • / malevolence
    • USE: / malice [subcommand]
    • → Place a curse on someone.
    • >> Sub-commands: motion
      • Perform one movement only.
    • Text and motion will be displayed when no subcommand is specified.

New music and sound effects have been added.

Issues addressed in patch 5.45

  • The following issues have been resolved.
    • An issue in which some graphics did not appear correctly during cutscenes for the quest "No Bread Alone".
    • An issue in Eureka where ending the conversation with the Expedition Sky Watcher on an irregular basis, then the conversation with other NPCs, caused the Expedition Sky Watcher's dialogue to be displayed incorrectly .
    • An issue in which the Blue Mage Sticky Tongue action does not increase hostility when used on targets immune to knockback effects.
    • An issue where the card holder on Star of the Demon Astrologer arms was not showing.
    • An issue in which the graphics of some fish did not display correctly in aquariums.
    • An issue after the completion of the Ishgardian restoration in which the skybuilders monument appeared as it was before the completion of the Ishgardian restoration under certain circumstances.
    • An issue in which NPC Anna in the Firmament (X: 14.2 Y: 12.6) did not have a title.
    • An issue where the Impulsive Appraisal Mastery Botanist and Miner trait, which was to be removed in Update 5.4, still appeared in the Actions and Traits window.
    • An issue in which the graphics of the exterior of the Riviera Cottage Wall (Stone) dwelling did not display correctly.
    • An issue in which the graphics of some furniture introduced in Update 5.4 did not display correctly.
    • Other minor text issues were also fixed.

Other miscellaneous issues were also discussed.

Known issues

  • An issue in Delubrum Reginae in which some enemy attacks use the wrong combat animations or do not display correctly in the Battle Log.
  • An issue in Delubrum Reginae where pets are not attacking certain enemies.
  • An issue in Delubrum Reginae in which some graphics are not displayed correctly.
  • An issue in Delubrum Reginae in which players disconnected from the server, even out of combat, may be incapacitated when reconnecting to the game.
  • An issue in which the graphical effects of some main crafting tools introduced in update 5.45 are incorrectly displayed when repairing items.
  • An issue in which the coordinates of where to get the Triple Triad maps introduced in Update 5.45 are incorrect.
  • An issue when using the Group Finder tool where group members may mistakenly appear offline when recruiting for a 24 player alliance.
