Chongyun's attacks and abilities

  • Melee attack: Demonbane
    • Normal Attack: Make up to 4 consecutive strikes.
    • Charged Attack: Drains stamina over time to perform continuous whirling attacks against all nearby enemies. At the end of the sequence, perform a stronger slash.
    • Dive Attack: Dive from the air to strike the ground below, damaging enemies along the way and dealing AoE damage on impact.
  • Elemental Skill: Spirit Blade - Chonghua Layered Frost
    • Chongyun hits the ground with his claymore, causing a Cryo explosion in a circular AoE in front of him that deals Cryo Damage.
    • After a short delay, the cold air created by the Cryo blast will merge into one, in which all damage dealt by normal attacks and charged by characters armed with sword, clay and vest weapon will be converted to Cryo Damage.
  • Elemental Blast: Spirit Blade - Cloud Parting Star
    • By executing the Secret Hand Seals, Chongyun summons 3 giant Spirit Blades into the air that fall to the earth one by one after a short delay, exploding when they hit the ground.
    • When the Spirit Blades explode, they will deal AoE Cryo Damage and throw enemies.

  • Gallant journey
    • When sent on expedition to Liyue, the time consumed is reduced by 25%.

Suggestions de construction de Chongyun

Initially, Chongyun excels as a support character in Genshin Impact, but he can be played as a secondary damage dealer thanks to his powerful Burst ability with a few of his constellations unlocked. Since he's able to easily stack Cryo debuffs thanks to his elemental skill, you'll want to pair him with a Pyro primary damage dealer to trigger Melt as often as possible.

Support and damage-focused Chongyun players will benefit from the 5-Star Skyward Pride Clay, but they can all easily be swapped out for the 4-Star Favonius Greatsword if their gacha draws turn out tight. The Wolf's Tombstone is still a great 5-star claymore for damage dealing damage to claymore characters, so Chongyun's damage shouldn't turn his nose at him. All of these require gacha prints, so use the archaic prototype until you've caught one of the others.

  • Favonius Greatsword: Critical hits have a 60% chance (up to 100%) to generate a small amount of elemental particles, which will regenerate 6 points of energy for the character. Can only occur once every 12s (up to 6s). Secondary: energy recharge.
  • Skyward Pride: Increases all damage by 8% (up to 16%). After using an elemental attack, normal, or charged, on hit creates a Void Blade that deals 80% (up to 160%) of the attack as damage to opponents along its path. Lasts 20 s or 8 vacuum blades. Secondary: energy recharge.
  • Wolf's Tombstone: Increases attack by 20% (up to 40%). On hit, attacks against opponents with less than 30% HP increase the attack of all party members by 40% (up to 80%) for 12s. Can only occur once every 30 seconds. Secondary: Attack.
  • Archaic Prototype: On hit, normal or charged attacks have a 50% chance to deal 240% (up to 480%) additional attack damage to opponents in a small area. Can only occur once every 15 seconds. Secondary: Attack.

Whether Chongyun is played as a support or as a damage dealer in Genshin Impact, he benefits from the Noblesse Oblige artifact set. A full four piece bonus is best if you play it as damage, but it will work for support builds as well. If possible, use the Noblesse Oblige two-piece bonus in tandem with the two-piece Blizzard Strayer if you plan to play Chongyun as a support. Like all of Genshin Impact's other Claymore users, the Gladiator's Final artifact set works well with Chongyun if used as a damage dealer, and is easier to farm than the Noblesse Oblige set. Support Chongyun will want Cryo damage and Elemental Mastery checks, while Chongyun damage will want attack percentage and energy recharge.

  • Noblesse Oblige (clear pool and mountain cave)
    • (2) Elemental Blast Damage + 20%
    • (4) Using an elemental explosion increases the attack of all party members by 20% for 12s. This effect cannot stack.
  • Blizzard Strayer (Pic de Vindagnyr)
    • (2) Cryo damage bonus + 15%
  • Gladiator's Finale (Elite Bosses and Weekly Bosses at World Level 2+)
    • (2) Attack + 18%.
    • (4) If the wearer of this artifact set uses a sword, claymore, or pole weapon, increase their normal attack damage by 35%.
