Red Dead Redemption 2 : Treasure Map Locations Guide

How to get the treasure maps?

Red Dead Redemption 2 treasure maps can be obtained in several ways.

You may have to search each map separately. This means that there are dozens of treasure hunters who will reward you with a map in exchange for help, or there may be merchants who sell them or gangsters who have buried the treasure, this way you will have the honor and the burden of going after it.

The Red Dead Redemption 2 map is huge, so the possibilities are multiple.

How to solve treasure maps in RDR2

Once you have the map, the procedure is pretty much the same. These are hand-drawn maps where a precise point of a larger area is indicated. It could be an illustration of a particular building near where the treasure was buried, or an oddly shaped rock. It could also be a few sentences of text describing where you should go. Either way, it won't always be easy to decrypt them. The maps will have different levels of clues without clearly telling you where to go, and you will have to interpret the clues correctly to find the right location.

Once you're there, a little work with the shovel will get you your prize. The prize is not just the object you've gotten or the money you've found, but also the thrill of the hunt, the satisfaction of solving a riddle and collecting all the treasures.

Each time we discover a treasure map, we will point it out in this constantly updated guide with the corresponding puzzle solution. In this treasure map guide you will find all the details and receive step-by-step instructions on each map that will be present in the game.

Treasure Maps | Jack Hall Gang

Jack Hall Gang maps are part of the treasure maps that you can find in Red Dead Redemption 2. They are drawings, made by gang members, that point out the places where they buried their loot. Getting the drawing is only half the problem: once you get it, you'll have to figure out where the precise location is, based on the landmarks you draw. If you find this too difficult, we'll help you with our guide to Jack Hall's gang treasure maps.

Jack Hall Gang Map #1

To get the first map, you should talk to Maximo, a professional treasure hunter and adventurer. You will find it north of Bard's Crossing, on a cliff overlooking the Dakota River. He will sell you the map for $10. The picture shows a rocky hill with two spires on the right, there is a small settlement at the bottom of the hill, and what looks like a river.

[Guide] RDR2 : Treasure Hunt Solution

The hill in the picture is Caliban' s seat, this you will find northeast of where you meet Maximo, on the other side of the river. If you look at the hill from the northeast side, your view will match the picture. Climb it, then head down the ledge once you reach the camp. Follow the ledge until you see a hole in the cliff, that's where you'll find the treasure and the next map.

Map # 2 of Jack Hall's gang

The next map will take you to Cotorra Springs, a secluded spot in northern Mbarino, east of Bacchus Station. When you get there, you'll notice several pools of clear water and three smoking craters, possibly geysers. If you look at the drawing, you might get an idea of where to look for treasure. There is a group of small rock formations to the west - the treasure (along with the following map) is under one of them.

Map #3 of Jack Hall's gang

The third drawing shows a small island in the middle of a lake, with a tall fire tree. The lake in question is O'Creagh's Run, located in the east of the Grizzlies, northeast of Valentine and east of the previous map. You must approach the island from the peninsula on the west side, to avoid drowning. Once you are on the island, look for the rock shown in the image below. When you lift it up, you will find the treasure underneath it.

Treasure Maps | Chick's Map

Chick's treasure map in RDR2 is one of the many treasure maps in the game. The solution to Chick's treasure map is far from simple, as the clues you receive are rather vague. All you are told is to look inside a hollow tree somewhere, that being the case, here is our solution to Chick's treasure Red Dead Redemption 2 map.

Chick's treasure map, how to solve it?

To solve Chick's treasure map in RDR 2, you will have to go to the location drawn on it. The map says, "If anything should happen to me, my earthly possessions are stored here." The map also provides a rough drawing of the location: a tree and a hole in that tree. That's where the treasure is hidden, the "only" problem is that Chick's treasure map itself doesn't give you much to go on, in terms of directions. You're pretty much left to your own devices, but let's see what we can get out of it.

The location you're looking for is actually in the south of the Grizzlies East, right on the edge of the area. The tree you're looking for is southeast of Moonstone Pond, south of the Three Sisters, north of Emerald Station and Emerald Ranch. Look for the huge tree shown on the map. The tree is really impressive, so it stands out, even the hole in the tree is pretty obvious. Also, if you get closer, you can also see that there is something inside the hole, so all this should be enough to help you find Chick's treasure.

Map # 3 poisonous trail

It is located in the cave behind the Elysian Pool waterfall. After crossing the waterfall, be sure to select the flashlight from the weapon wheel (at the bottom right, where the knife is, you can switch to the flashlight), otherwise it will be very dark. Once inside, go down to the right side. Then stay on the right side, run along the ledge. There is a small tunnel at the end on the right. Go through it and you will find a series of hidden tunnels, at the end of one of them is the treasure.

Torn map of the alien hermit

The alien hermit in RDR2 is one of the many NPCs in the game. The Hermit in Red Dead Redemption 2 is interesting because he hides a treasure map. He also has a rare rifle.

To find the location of the Hermit in Red Dead Redemption 2 , you will have to explore the northeastern end of the map, looking for the location called Manito Glade. The location you are looking for is not far from Willard's Rest; it is south of it. The easiest way to get your bearings is from Annesburg. From Annesburg, head directly north.

[Guide] RDR2 : Treasure Hunt Solution

The hermit's house at Manito Glade is easy to spot. It's a ramshackle house with "No Trespassing" and "No Trespassing" signs. He really doesn't want anyone to bother him. He will go from words to deeds by loading his gun. Let's see how we can solve this.

To get the broken treasure map #1 Red Dead Redemption 2 , you must first kill the hermit. Once you kill the hermit, you can loot his corpse to get a clean hat, after that, enter the house and loot everything. As for the treasure map, it's in a small drawer, to the right of a cupboard with shelves, near the window.

Where to find the other piece of the map and Otis Miller's revolver?

Otis Miller's revolver in RDR2 is one of the unique weapons in the game. To find it, you need to find the location of the broken map pieces. The first piece we found in the hermit's house, let's see where the second one is.

The second piece is located in a small shack in the northeast end of West Elizabeth. Basically, what you have to do is follow the Little Creek all the way north. Then, go east, and there you'll find the shack we talked about. It has a sign warning of guard dogs and dirty laundry hanging outside.

[Guide] RDR2 : Treasure Hunt Solution

When you get there, the resident will attack you and send his dog too. You will have to kill them all. So, enter the shack and check the nightstand next to the bed to find the second piece of Torn Treasure Map.

The location of Otis Miller's revolver is called Rattlesnake Hollow. It is in northern Cholla Springs, northwest of Armadillo Springs. There is a small hole in the rock wall that you can pass through. Inside you'll find a box with a revolver and a surprising amount of erotic photographs. Yes, you're right.
