2GB of RAM is the minimum required to install 10-bit Windows 64, while 1 GB is enough for the 32-bit version. As for the disk space, it takes 20 or 16 GB for the two versions, respectively. The graphics chip must be compatible with DirectX 9.
As for Windows 10 Mobile, however, the minimum requirements change depending on the screen resolution. It takes at least 4GB of available space to install Windows 10 on a smartphone, but it is advisable to have more, even on the SD card, to manage future updates.
As for RAM, the bare minimum is 512 MB, but they will only suffice for low-end devices with WVGA or FWVGA resolution. Increasing the screen resolution also increases the amount of RAM required, which goes up to 4 GB for QSZGA (2560 x 2048) screens.
Microsoft also announced that Windows 10 is also compatible with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC and with others based on ARM architecture (Snapdragon 808, 615, 210 and 208). Full compatibility with the latest Intel and AMD processors is more obvious.
Finally, remember that the upgrade to Windows 10 will be free for those who have Windows 7 or Windows 8.1, and that this promotion will remain valid for one year from the release of the operating system.
