The new Battlegrounds update brings a host of changes to the
minion pool, with 18 new minions entering and 10 withdrawing.
New minions are mostly dragons and dragon synergies
cards, with some goodies for others
tribes to hopefully shake demons from the grip of death on the game
moment.
The new cards are:
1 level
Respawn Dragon Lieutenant: 2/3 Dragon with Taunt.
Red whelp: 1/2 Dragon with "Beginning of the fight: Deal 1
damage per friendly dragon to a random enemy minion. "
Level 2:
Glyph Guardian: 2/4 Dragon with "Whenever this attack,
double his attack. "
Time Steward: 2/4 Dragon with "When you sell this
servant, give all the servants in Bob's Tavern + 1 / + 1 ”.
Waxrider Togwaggle: ½ with "Whenever a friend
Dragon kills an enemy, gets + 2 / + 2 ”.
Unstable Ghoul: 1/3 with Taunt and Deathrattle: “Deal
1 damage to all minions. "
Level 3:
Bronze keeper: Dragon 2/1 with Divine Shield and
Reborn.
Hungry Dragon: 4/4 Dragon with "At the start of your
turn, get + 2 / + 2 if you won the last fight. "
Level 4:
Drakonid Enforcer: 3/6 Dragon with "After a friendly match
the servant loses the Divine Shield, gets + 2 / + 2. "
Herald of the Flame: 5/4 Dragon with Overkill “Deal 3
damage to the leftmost enemy minion. "
Cobalt scales: 5/5 Dragon with "At the end of your
turn, give a random friendly minion +3 attack. "
Level 5:
Murozond: 5/5 Dragon with battle cry "Add a minion
from your opponent's last war strip to your hand. "
Twilight Emissary: 6/8 Dragon with Taunt and
Battlecry: "Give a friendly dragon + 3 / + 3."
Razorgore, the untamed: 2/4 Dragon with "At the end
on your turn, get + 1 / + 1 for each dragon you have. "
Level 6:
Holy mackerel: 8/4 Murloc with "After another
the friendly servant loses the Divine Shield, gains the Divine Shield. "
Imp Mama: 6/8 Demon with "Whenever this servant takes
damage, summon a random demon and taunt it. "
Kalecgos, aspect of the arcana: 2/8 Dragon with "After you"
playing a minion with Battlecry, give your dragons +1 / +1. "
Nadina the Red: 7/4 with Deathrattle «Give your
Dragons Divine Shield. "
They are a few powerful minions overall, and significantly
more powerful on average than what they replace. The deleted minions are
as following:
Armored minibot
Annoy-o-Tron
Raptor on horseback
Commander of the Phalanx
Psych-o-Tron
Tortollan Shellraiser
Piloted Celestial Golem
Festerroot Hulk
Boogey monster
Threshadon repu
Overall, it's not a bad job. You lose a herd of minions who
were rarely taken, and get a whole new tribe with new synergies, as well as
support for other hybrid synergies (Divine Shield compositions in particular have
chamois).
This should be an interesting update from the stale
Battleground meta.
